Summaries and Customer Reviews are supplied by Amazon.com Absolutely amazing. | Customer Rating: | Buy this book and read it now. Do what it says and the changes in your life will be incredible. Tony Robbins is one of the top coaches in the world and there is a reason for that. | Truly Superb Self Help Book - buy it. | Customer Rating: | I have read many self help books recently and i dont have enough words to commend this particular book. For me, it is faultless and if you are going to find one book that will actually help you to move forward postively in your life, this is the one. Too often, these kinds of books outline ideas to move forward and change things without actually giving any strong background as to why this will happen. This book does exactly that and more. I have read this once and intend to read it again and again. Whats more it has exercises designed to structure the process of making change. That is why it is going to be read many times. Anthony Robbins presents himself sincerely and inspires total confidence in what he is trying to help you to achieve. I have only read it once and im already feeling my mindset change. I now intend to reread it with an emphasis on implementing his methodology fully. Im almost overwhelmed by the level of attention to detail he gives to his approach. Forget the rest and buy this. | Oustanding the 'Bible' of self-help manuals | Customer Rating: | | When I first dipped into this book I did not think it was for me. There was too much 'loud' stuff. I could envisage 'group hugs' and the American way of doing things. It felt way too touchy-feely for me; however, I contined and was ultimately so pleased that I did. Robbins has such a way with writing and inspiring it is quite clear why he is the person he is today. | Who can Argue with Success? | Customer Rating: | Awaken the Giant Within encourages taking control of ones life to promote positive change. Robbins has read extensively on human development and has rolled many worthwhile concepts into his book. He explores topics including belief systems, how to change, positive decision making, destroying blocks to success and more. This book gives a good overview of how to take better control of one's like.
The reading is quick, but he could have been somewhat less verbose and get the same points across. Then again, it is a relatively minor point if this is what is needed to motivate people to take control of their lives.
Although interesting, Robbin's book did not change me significantly. Almost all of his concepts can be found in other sources. However, Robbins work has helped many people a great deal...and it would be unwise to argue with this success!
The Re-Discovery of Common Sense: A Guide To: The Lost Art of Critical Thinking | It's what you make it | Customer Rating: | You will read a lot of conflicting reviews about this book. Most are good, some are OK and then others claim that Robbins is a con-artist hell bent on brainwashing gullible folks to fleece them of their money by selling some limp 'positive thinking' dream.
The truth with many things is in the eye of the beholder. What it isn't is some 'positive thinking' book designed to make you oblivious to life's difficulties and claiming that life is easy. Life isn't easy. This is why so many of us find it challenging. If you choose to read this book from a point of curiosity, you should find it interesting. If you read it intent on doing the exercises with a view to having the courage to make changes in your life, it can be life transforming; - but you must want it to be. It won't just happen.
Robbins makes the point that everything starts with 'personal power', the ability to take consistent action in the direction of your chosen destination. What holds us back in moving our lives forward is our reluctance to move out of our emotional comfort zones. The key reason for this is fear. As adults, we call it stress or angst or any other number of names but it all comes down to the same thing. We are bothered by what others think and say, we do conform, we are scared of getting rejected or of failing so we opt to stay in unhappy relationships, dead-end jobs, adapt to low earnings and be unhappy in the process and avoid risk.
This book will show you some very powerful strategies in taking control of your thinking and starting to move in the right direction. The earlier chapter on the power of decisions is a must. Robbins makes the point that a true decision means no going back, its not a 'should' or a 'ought' but a true emotional conviction. This book will give you the power to make those decisions and the strategies to manage your emotions in the midst of the emotional discomfort you will experience.
Too many people who have not been content with their lives can testify to this books effectivness. I was someone who faced some major challenges in my life which caused me to retreat into my comfort zone. Doing what I knew I should be doing was avoided and procrastination was the order of the day as far as work was concerned. This book gave me the courage to change and made me realise that any challenges or gain we experience in life requires courage and will make us feel uncomfortable.
Its only by experiencing emotional discomfort that we achieve emotional growth. Yes, it can be scary but its all down to whether you want it or not. If you do, this book will help.. |
