Summaries and Customer Reviews are supplied by Amazon.com Excellent | Customer Rating: | | I had watched the DVD of the series prior to reading this book. However this did not detract at all from my enjoyment of it, in fact it enhanced it. Chris Terrill does a great job of describing the characters and the situations they face. Furthermore you can sense his genuine passion of the RM Commandos, and as for his efforts on completing the commando selection tests...I am in awe. | Commando | Customer Rating: | | For me, someone who is actively pursuing a career in the marines, this book is a fantastic read. It shows many positive aspects of Corps life but also reminds the reader of the harsh realities which come about when in active service for the marines or perhaps any armed service. Very easy to follow, gripping from start to finish and quite moving in parts, i would recommend it to anyone with an active interest in the forces and any aspiring Royal Marines Commando. | Excellent | Customer Rating: | This is Chris's personnel journey throughout the trials and tribulations of making the series. It tells us in detail the hardships endured by any Marine recruit, and especially those endured by Terrill. This is an excellent accompaniment to the TV Series. | Great book best on the market | Customer Rating: | | I picked up this book after seeing a few of the tv series episodes. I could hardly put the book downand read it in a matter of days. it is probably the best book of it genre on sale at the moment. For a young adult aspiring to be a Royal Marine it was further proff of why i have wanted to join from a child. An amazing insight into the lives and roles of royal marines and what to expect if you were to join. | commando | Customer Rating: | | I recently read this book after watching the tv series, which I loved. As someone who is in the process of joining the Royal Marines this book was a great help as it highlights the standard of fitness required and proves that the training team at Lympstone really do want all recruits to pass the course despite appearing overly harsh-a useful point to remember when suffering in training. The book describes the 32 week commando course in detail and provides a very helpful insight into training especially advising you that Lympstone is just a short, unpleasant ordeal that has to be completed, leading on to a desirable career in the Royal Marines. |
