Summaries and Customer Reviews are supplied by Amazon.com Brilliant but little value added | Customer Rating: | | Derren is brilliant as usual and I really enjoyed watching the DVD and the opportunity to watch it again and again. I loved the bit with Jonathan Ross and his absolutely gorgeous wife Jane. And why do I suddenly want a red BMX for Christmas? No more than 3 stars though because the content is exactly the same cut as that shown on TV. There are a couple of voice over behind the scene discussions recorded but I expected more. More video of the build up, the actual 'trick' and comment from Derren on what we had seen and heard. Artists and DVD producers need to put more into their productions than what people can get direct from TV, then I'd be happy to part with more of my money. | It's a whisk | Customer Rating: | | This guy is a genius. Anyone who has seen his trickery and Messiah show on TV will know that he's much better than Paul Daniels or his son Keith. He is also miles ahead of Paul McKenna in the hypnotism stakes - though he hasn't yet managed to persuade millions of overweight women to part with their money. Brown's latest DVD is another gem. He outfoxes some celebs like Jonathan Ross and his missus with the red hair and others like Spandau Ballet's Martin Kemp. It's almost a waste of time trying to work out how Derren does it, but he does reveal some tricks of the trade in the 'extras' section. I've tried a few and they work. For the past six months, I've gone down the the tuck shop in work at 10 a.m. and asked for a cup of tea and a mars bar. Now, using Derren Brown's 'mind control strategy', I stare intently into the tuck shop woman's eyes, nod twice and say 'I'd like the usual, yeah?'. She then serves me up a cup of tea and a mars bar! Without me having to mention either item by name! It doesn't work quite so well in large department stores, but apparently the psychic energy isn't as good there. Anyway, top man Derren, and more power to your elbow. |
