Excellent advice but images are technically weak
Customer Rating:  Score = 4 Score = 4 Score = 4 Score = 4 Score = 4
I really like the sound advice in this book. I think the author's experience photographing different types of weddings becomes apparent in this book. For example, he explains how it's important to look out for larger than life characters in weddings, and to follow them as this potentially makes for memorable images. His advice is not snobbish, and he inspires confidence that with practice, effort and business sense, many people could earn a living shooting weddings. The main weak point of the book is a lack of inspiring images, which is strange, as he has a brilliant web portfolio.

The ideal wedding photography reference book
Customer Rating:  Score = 5 Score = 5 Score = 5 Score = 5 Score = 5
This book is logically organised and says what you need to know in a very concise, readable manner. It is therefore ideal for dipping into whenever you want a refresher on a particular topic, and makes a great lunchtime read.

The sections about the types of shots required at different times during the wedding day are particularly useful, as is the excellent advice on indoor and outdoor lighting and related flash techniques.

The book covers many other subjects such as workflow and backup techniques, JPEG vs RAW, and even some basics on setting up a wedding photography business.

If you don't have any books on wedding photography yet, this one makes an ideal reference guide and central book to your collection.

Excellent beginner book

This book covers a quite a bit. The information is clear and not too technical. I feel a little too much was dedicated to vacation weddings, but that's what the author specializes in. All in all a good read with very good pointers

Superb wedding photography book
Customer Rating:  Score = 5 Score = 5 Score = 5 Score = 5 Score = 5
I am a keen hobbyist moving up to weekend wedding photography and I found this book to be superb. It is easy to read, informative, well laid out and has loads and loads of relevant information. I can't speak for professional experienced photographers but would imagine from the content that they would find this very useful too. If you are like me, a budding weekend wedding photographer, this book is absolutely superb. I have bought several books similar and found "Capture the moment" good but this is a must have. Well done Glen Johnson on a superb first book - it helped me a lot.

Excellent!

The book is great it covers everything you could want to know about wedding photography. It even includes things you didn't even know you needed to know! It is the most useful book on Wedding photography I have found (and I have been through a few!). If only I had found it earlier I would be richer and wiser.

If there is any criticism at all it is that some if it is a little Americanised, but that is understandable due to the American author and since there isn't a British version I will happily live with it.
