From the yurt to the stone shepherds' cottage, vernacular building shows that high-tech is not always the best solution, and that the construction methods that people have been evolving over thousands of years to suit their climate and local materials are actually very sophisticated. An insight into different methods of living in very different cultures. A very well written guide, easy to understand even if you have no previous knowledge, yet in-depth enough to interest at any level. With the beautiful photographs and very high standard of presentation that you would expect from Philadon.This is a lovely, fantastic quality book. Buy it!
