Another world....beautifully depicted
| Customer Rating: | | A true story, James Campbell relates his cousin Heimo's early life, and all the factors that drove him to seek out a life in the Alaskan wilderness. Campbell vividly depicts the hardships and many life threatening incidents Korth has faced - and continues to face - and also his deep love for his Family and surroundings. You can only marvel at Korth's survival instinct and skills. This is an absorbing tale (interlaced with just enough political and general background concerning developments in Alaska), especially given that Korth's way of life is fast vanishing. A book for all escapists, (arm chair) travellers and anyone interested in subsistence/alternative living. Can't wait to find out what happened to the Korths after their difficult decision taken in the final chapters... |
