Summaries and Customer Reviews are supplied by Amazon.com Terrible | Customer Rating: | | This item is terrible. It show all the glory of Hamilton and McLaren, but they forgot to mention how they made Hamilton's team mate, Heikki drive with a heavier car, so he would have no competition and the arrangement they made with toyota. | An enthralling season | Customer Rating: | This is a pretty good review of an exciting season in Formula 1. With all the major incidents of the eighteen races shown and with multi angle views of the most spectacular crashes, driver interviews and in car camera of a lap from each circuit with driver commentary, all the bases are touched on if not covered. The most notable of the laps were: Rosberg in Monaco and Hamilton in Hockenheim.
The coverage of the first nighttime race in Singapore is excellent and the final race in Brazil is nail biting stuff. I enjoyed this DVD and is well worth a look for all Formula 1 fans. Included in the extras is a Ross Brawn interview and an interview with Hamilton in 2006 on the eve of his GP2 series win. I did think the extras were a bit skimpy though . | Very good but more off-track details please! | Customer Rating: | This is a good overview of the 2008 season detailing the on-track highlights of each race well. The commentator is great too, he should commentate on the live races! The special features are a nice addition too.
The reason I give this DVD four stars, however, is because it would've been nicer to have more interviews with the drivers and team personnel, and have more information about what happened off-track at each race. They started to do this well with the 2006 Season Review but have neglected it a bit with this and the 2007 DVD.
| Ok review | Customer Rating: | The 2008 season was one of the best of recent years and the last race of the season was one of the most exciting title decider's of all time. This review follows on from the previous seasons format but with extra race footage and more in car action. The review of each race was good and the on board-qualifying lap was nice to see. The review is sadly lacking in interviews with technical personnel and it would have been nice to have seen a better team introduction, also the political side of the sport seems to have been brushed aside. The music during the British grand prix was somewhat pointless and the extras are a bit thin on the ground. Overall a good season review but not up to the standard of the late 80's and early 90's reviews. | Excellent review of a great season | Customer Rating: | F1 reviews have gradually got better and better each year after trying to cram everything into two hours. This is the longest review yet just short of 4 hours and spread over 2 discs and its definately needed and deserved.
Each race has about 10 minutes given to it, a driver takes you around their qualifying lap and there's some short montages and five extra features such as a look around Force India, interviews with Ross Brawn and Sebastien Bourdais.
Its narrated once again by Ben Edwards who does his usual excellent job and for once its nice to have a non Lewis worshipping DVD. Ben always stays neutral which is the best way to be.
One of the best review DVDs. |
