Great fun learning

I bought this for my 3 year old and I am extemely happy with it. I've had this for a month or so now and my Son can already ask and reply to the following questions in French: how are you? what's your name? how old are you? where do you live? He also knows please, thank you, hello goodbye, yes no, I don't know. The important thing to note is that I have not just sat him in front of the TV and let him get on with it, usually when he wakes up in the morning I say good morning, how are you, etc in French and he says it back to me, then later on in the day we'll sit down together and watch the dvd. He loves the songs and so do I, they're good fun and very catchy. I'm not pushy with it, it's used as good fun and at the same time he is getting a good start in life. Great buy.

This is a wonderful language pack with everything you need to help beginning children learn French. The animation is engaging and captures the children's attention. They are learning without even realising it, thinking they are just watching a DVD. Not only do you get the wonderful Serge DVD, you also get an Audio CD, songsheets, game cards and an Activity Book. I can't recommend this highly enough. If I could give it more stars I would!

Best investment I've made in language learning for a child

I bought the Serge French learning pack for my 4 year old (now 5) and it has been an unqualified success. He loves watching the programmes and singing along to the CD of songs and has mastered some French basics including conversational phrases, numbers and colours. Some of the activities and material in the book he will grow into. I had tried a few books and CDs to give him an early start in a foreign language and this is far and away the best investment I have made. Very effective and very good value. I wish there was a follow up (or some other languages).

My kids aged 2, 4 and 6 all love this, and they're all picking up some French. The CD is great in the car for a long journey. Animation on the DVD isn't quite Pixar, but it's OK and the kids don't mind. We've had great value out of this already, and we haven't really introduced the games and the book yet.

My daughter loves this DVD. At 2 and a half she can already speak some French - more than I could aged seven! We bought this after deciding not to invest in Muzzy, on grounds of cost. I can only agree with other reviewers, it is a fantastic way to introduce small children to the French language. The themes are designed to appeal to that age group (pets, games, food and so on) and there are plenty of genuinely funny jokes which the parents will enjoy too! Singing along with the catchy songs is a great way to consolidate vocabulary and refine pronunciation. The only downside is that the CGI is not up to the contemporary "Pixar" standard. But, again, my two-year-old doesn't seem to mind...! Superb value for money and deserves to be more widely known. Merci beaucoup, Serge - génial!
