A brick of a book.
| Customer Rating: | | Syllabus reading: this book is a brick of words. It is excellent in terms of delivering a very intensive and conscise history of modern architecture; and provides a great interlocking understanding of many important modern buildings. If I had a single criticism about it, it would be that the words are so packed together in it, as are the tiny thumbnail images that accompany them, that it can be quite a strain on the eyes to read. As a cohesive representation of 100 or so years of architecture it provides a main route from which personal investigation can begin. I, certainly, went searching the internet, and other books, for better images of many of the buildings mentioned in here. |
