Trite, patronising collection of recycled ideas, presented in a series of unconnected bullet-points without any flow or structure. It reads as if the author has read a few self help books on holiday and decided he can do just as well, without having really grasped any of the fundamentals of what the reader might be looking for. Full of really irritating stories of other people who are really positive and have magically turned their lives around, but somehow without the magic ingredient of inspiration for the reader. Plus some really trite old-hat snippets about "the Power of Laughter" and "Playing for a Living", and "GOATs" (a supposedly amusing alternative word to sum up goals and objectives, which adds nothing to what you DO about them, just uses another word which jars the eye as you read). I ordered several books on this subject as once - this was the worst by miles. Spend your money instead on "Positive Thinking" by Vera Peiffer", for some real understanding, structure and constructive ideas. If you really want this book, please don't waste your money - email me and you can have mine for free.... if I haven't already thrown it on the fire, which is probably the most Positive Action I can think of for it.

In addition to the other POSITIVE contribution below this book is broken down into nice short & easy to digest paragraphs & chapters. This book is a no hype & no frills book that gets to the point & the basics of what it is to be "truly" successful, including many valuable and do-able tips & exercises on how to achieve "REAL" success.

It's written in a very clear style, language & typeset, the lessons and techniques are easy to read, understand & digest, thus allowing one to get through the book without having to wade through pages of American Psychobabble & slang. Nor does it languish on the "I knew a man once who bla bla bla ....." typical of most of the ancient PMA (Positive Mental Thinking" books about success & positive thinking.

Douglas' reputation & credentials must have been quite remarkable to have his book published by the BBC World Learning!

Take yourself out of the of Carnegie, Covey & Hill et al dark ages & read this modern & thoroughly well researched course that will propel you to your own success.

No luck needed.....just read it!

In today's fast moving world it is very easy to become demotivated and thereby negative for those of us who are not natuaral optimists. The trouble with demotivation and negativity is that we bring it home from our workplace and this enhances the our downward spiral.

Doug Miller's book helps to reverse this processby teaching us the benefits of positivity. We all know people who appear postive and with such positivity goes success. Not necessarily always in their work but in their lives. The book draws upon the experiences of self motivated people whose lives have taken off because of their attitude and their postive approach to everything they do.

There are plenty of techniques with the 192 pages to help the most stubborn pessimist. An ideal present for a disaffected offspring going through an identity crisis.
