Summaries and Customer Reviews are supplied by Amazon.com This book will make you want to clean up your life so you are presented as a holy sacrifice acceptable to the Lord | Customer Rating: | Let those who have ears hear. Judging from the other negative reviews, clearly the writers are either not Christians, or are Christians who don't spend time reading the Bible or practice a Christianity that picks and chooses what it wants to believe & follow. If there is one thing that Rebecca Brown always does, it is to quote extensively from the Bible - this is not some ad hoc rant & rave. She has a wonderful spiritual gift - those who read her books with the right attitude(i.e one that is open to wisdom & will test the spirit from where this wisdom comes from) are filled with an unquenchable desire for God & His Word. Everytime I read her books or her newsletters at www.harvestwarriors.com, I want to run & sit in the Lord's presence, read His Word & hear what He has to say.
Although the Bible extensively talks about God & His love for us, it is equally emphatic about his wrath on half baked Christians, his sense of justice & absolute intolerance to sin. And that's what this book is all about - man's tolerance of sin which God cannot tolerate. God does desire us to clean up our lives so we can have more of Him - how can light have any fellowship with darkness as the Bible states.
If you think Satan and his demons are a fabrication, then you clearly have no knowledge of the workings of satanic cults currently in operation in large numbers around the world & even in the UK. If Satan was truly a fabrication, why do these cults continue to thrive I wonder. There is power to be had in them but it is the wrong kind of power & one that God absoutely detests. Blanket statements should be avoided without lack of research.
If you are that dubious about what Rebecca Brown writes, the best thing to do is go back to the Bible & read it well - I particularly recommend Deuteronomy & Leviticus. But then you probably don't believe what the Bible says anyway - which is something else altogether to deal with.
So if you are thinking of buying this book, please do not hesitate. You must understand that as with the characters in the Bible, anybody who reveals the Word of God as it is, is bound to be unpopular. And that is why you should read this book - it will make you decide between continuing to be a lukewarm Christian or one the Lord wants to refine & change. My relationship with God has been completely transformed ever since I started to read Rebecca Brown's books 15 years ago.
If you haven't already, I would actually recommend starting with 'He came to set the captives free' before moving onto any of her other books. God bless. | Excellent and true! | Customer Rating: | | An excellent and truthful book for all real christians. Wake up Christians!!!!! | Scare mongering, right wing, dangerous clap trap | Customer Rating: | | I was shocked on reading merely the first chapter of this grotesque book which yet again claims to be Christian, yet is rather un-christian in it's opinion and methodology. Encouraging hate, extremism and domination over "non-believers". Not only do we have the usual WASP ranting with regards to so called "satanism", and all those poor innoffensive nerds who happen to play dungeons and dragons every Saturday afternoon, but Brown has the audacity to belittle practices such as Yoga, and meditation, both integral parts of Hinduism and Buddhism respectively. Are my hindu friends going to hell?, can God be so elitist? The answer to any sane person is NO. When i'm told that Satan and Angels are not only real, but have free range over the Earth, I start questioning not only the author's motives, but also their credentials! The actual Christians who actually got the parts about love, compassion, and turning the other cheek should avoid this book unless they actually want to see the bad side of the faith, and understand why so many young people are turning their backs on our increasingly intolerant churches. |
