Summaries and Customer Reviews are supplied by Amazon.com Very Good | Customer Rating: | | As a first year dental student, following the basic medical science curriculum at Liverpool, I have found this book to be an invaluable resource, yes it has its inaccuracies in places and perhaps isn't as detailed as core texts on anatomy and physiology but for any first year dental or medical student this book is pitched at exactly the right level. I would advise anyone who uses this book to also use a core anatomy text alongside it as at times it does lack information with regards to the relationships between organs and vessels, giving you the anatomy of the structures themselves but not really demonstrating their orientation to surrounding tissues. This book provides, as mentioned, an invaluable resource for any first year dental or medical student, providing information on the anatomy, physiology, histology and embryology of all the systems. | Not really for medics | Customer Rating: | This is a well written book. It gives a good introduction to anatomy and physiology. However, as a medical student I found that there is not enough details either for anatomy or physiology. It would probably be helpful in year one semester one.
I bought this book because I liked how it is written and I liked the pictures and diagrams. However I ended up buying separate anatomy book (Moore full size *****) and separate physiology book.
| The best book on the current market | Customer Rating: | | Very detailed, all in colour, comparatively cheap for what it is and has an online website with learning aids such as written exercises and quizzes (this effectively eliminates the need for the companion book). A must have and a keeper for future reference. If you buy nothing else for A&P, get this book! | Tortora | Customer Rating: | Wow great! Contains NEARLY everything I need for my A&P module for sports studies degree. I got another free book with it too, showing a brief atlas of the skeleton, surface anatomy and medial images. Theres just some basics its missing but not much to be honest. Also it is a good workout for the arms when your reading it! | Great Buy! | Customer Rating: | | This book has ben a great help so far but, i do believe that the authour could have simplyfied term etc, on the whole fantastic value!! |
