Not particularly impressed
Customer Rating:  Score = 2 Score = 2 Score = 2 Score = 2 Score = 2
Didn't think it was very good actually for designing questionnaires. It had a lot on the basics - fair enough, but if you want to produce a psychometrically sound questionnaire I suggest looking elsewhere.

If you want to produce a marketing survey it may be ok but it has very little on the ways to statistically validate a measure.

Don't be put off by this book's boring appearance
Customer Rating:  Score = 5 Score = 5 Score = 5 Score = 5 Score = 5
Oppenheim's book labours under a boring cover and an even more boring appearance inside. Please persist. It's packed with real-world experience and sensible advice on how to build a questionnaire that will be the instrument of a successful survey.

I'm particularly enthusiastic about his excellent remarks on the necessity of piloting the questionnaire.

Excellent book

I relied on this book while working on my first social science research project. Better than any other text on the subject.

Essential reading for trainee questionnaire designers

This is the classic text on questionnaire design. As a lecturer in Social Research Methods at London Guildhall University I have recommended this book to both undergraduates and postgraduates. In my view, it is clear and accessible and contains all the information that a novice questionnaire designer needs. It is in my view, useful to have some practical guidelines on statistics, although for most social scientists a more specialist publication, such as Cramer and Bryman's Quantitative Data Analysis using SPSS would be a good companion. Nonetheless, this remains the seminal text on questionnaire design for the time being.

Some good ideas, but a bit intense undergraduate research
Customer Rating:  Score = 3 Score = 3 Score = 3 Score = 3 Score = 3
Some good ideas, but a bit intense for undergraduate research - all the statistics stuff isn't really necessary if you're doind educational research, as I was.
