Summaries and Customer Reviews are supplied by Amazon.com Another good RHS book | Customer Rating: | | A superb book full of useful "how to" information with good clear pictures which takes much of the guess work out of propagating more plants from the garden using cuttings or from seed. 320 pages in all covering a wide variety of plants with a few pages on tools and equipment too. Information includes when to sow, divide or take cuttings for each variety for success | A MUST HAVE BOOK | Customer Rating: | | Superb book, one of the best I have bought in a very long time - clear information, easy to follow, well laid out, good pictures and detail - highly recommended for anyone who loves plants! | Essential for the budding gardener | Customer Rating: | | This book is an absolute essential if you are just learning about gardening but want to do more than just buy all your plants fully grown from a nursery. As well as being beautifully laid out and easy to navigate through it is incredibly comprehensive. Each plant is described briefly, followed by in depth descriptions of the main forms of propogation which can be used to increase stock, gathering seed, taking cuttings, grafting and so on. Earlier chapters cover basic botany required to understand how plants grow and also describe the various techniques in detail. All of this is beautifully and very helpfully illustrated with photographs of the steps involved. Buy two copies because someone is sure to 'borrow' yours. |
