I loved this book... wasn't what I expected but rather a very honest account of a mother who has been through so much. It made Britney seem more real rather than the entity portrayed to us by the media. Great read even if your not the biggest Britney fan.

Couldn't put it down

I have always been extremely interested in the Spears family, which is the main reason why I purchased this book. Lynne Spears writes in such a way that inspires me. Her quotes and touching memories are excellent and some of which I can relate to. I grew up in an environment where alcoholism and extreme violence was involved and find it fascinating how Lynne Spears seems to think exactly what I think about alcoholism within a family. I understand that those who probably expected this book to be mainly about Lynne Spears' eldest daughter; Britney, will be slightly dissapointed that this is not the case. However, I did not expect it to be like this and the beginning of the book where Lynne Spears speaks about her husband's alcoholism is somewhat comforting to me. I could relate to this book very much; whereas others probably couldn't. I found this book very interesting throughout and could not put it down. I love the layout of the book, as it is much more interesting and easier to read. Everything that I expected and more.

A very odd book

This book isn't as promoted a tell all on the Spears daughters Britney and Jamie-Lynne. The book is extremely short and padded out with magazine style enlarged quotes from within the text and black and white pictures - the book overall probably contains not much more text than a short story. The only significant section of the book which mentions Britney covers the night of her second commitment to hospital and is lifted word for word from the statement Lynne Spears submitted to court in February when petitioning for a restraining order against Sam Lufti. All the information in this has already been widely reported. Whilst you have to respect Lynne Spears for not selling out her daughters the majority of this book is a tribute to her own female friends, tales of her other child Bryan's childhood sicknesses, a vague discussion of her own marriage and repeated denials of being a stage mother. Ultimately this isn't worth the price of a hardback book and is generally dull and uninspiring. If you must get it wait for the paperback.

Through the Storm: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World Good book, but not what was expected. Its also very short, at 200 pages and I read it in a day. The words are very spaced out on the pages and there are alot of pictures. But in honesty, its nothing that any big britney fans wouldnt know already in the book.
